The School of Business Administration has prepared a series of training programs to meet the needs of Mississippi and regional businesses. Our training programs run the gamut from top-, mid-, and entry-level managers. 

The School of Business Administration provides a wide range of training programs from general management skills training to customized programs to meet a specific organization's needs.

As an HRCI Approved Provider, we are also able to provide human resource management training which is approved for professional PHR/SPHR recertification credits.

For our general programs, the most likely beneficiaries are:

  • Employees who have been identified for promotion to managerial or supervisory positions.

  • Newly promoted managers and supervisors with less than one year's experience

  • Newly appointed project or team leaders.

  • Seasoned managers with little or no formal management training.


Basic Finance Principles for Non-Financial Managers

Understanding financial markets (what they are and the role they play); introduction to municipal bonds; structures, rating agencies, etc.; overview of FASB regulations; interpreting financial reports; conducting benefit/cost analysis; basic techniques in cash and capital budgeting; using financial information to make business decisions.

 

Communication for Managers in the Age of the Internet

Communicating effectively; effective use of email; effective use of an organizational website; effective use of online resources; managing effectively without a physical presence; creating trust and accountability in absentia; emerging trends such as virtual teams.

 

Listening to the Customer’s Voice: Learning from the Market to Ensure Customer Satisfaction

Understanding the drivers of sales growth, share growth and customer satisfaction; introduction to the role that customer information plays in increasing opportunities for firm growth and profitability; appreciating the cost savings and profit impact of building satisfaction and loyalty; grasping the appropriate ways of implementing customer satisfaction and loyalty programs to increase opportunities for growth and profitability; understanding the challenges and benefits of increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
